Site Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Site Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Contracts Manager/Project Manager

LOCATION: The Company’s construction site

SUMMARY OF ROLE

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a building project. The Site Supervisor makes sure that teams are working together with the sole objective of completing a project while adhering to deadlines, specifications and codes.   

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure a consistently high standard of work is produced in accordance with specification and quality standards through regular quality inspections/supervision with contracted construction trade gangs/crew.
  • Direct and supervise day to day operations of sub-contractors/gangs ensuring appliance of common operational procedures.
  • Ensure material requisitions are issued in adequate time to achieve the Construction Programme.
  • Schedule, control and monitor all plant and materials on a weekly basis, and administer on daily basis.
  • Ensure all work is completed to programme.
  • Liaise with Contracts Manager/Project Manager, Site Manager/Agent, and Quantity Surveyor regarding cost control, waste management, variations and confirmation of instructions.
  • Carrying out safety inspections and fulfilling the health, safety and welfare responsibilities as detailed in the Company’s Policy and international codes
  • Maintain quality and environmental control procedures in accordance with international standards
  • Create and maintain good relations with clients, design teams and neighbours as well as any other stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of own activity related to projects on Gateway to enable traceability.
  • Fulfil the role of Mentor as and when required.
  • Control and monitor site waste in accordance with the Company’s Site Waste Minimization and Management policy.
  • Must be hands-on person, healthy and physically fit to undertake demonstrations where necessary and training of crew on methods and techniques of improving on works delivery.
  • Continually develop knowledge of innovative construction techniques and products to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the team of trades on the project.
  • Maintain positive relations with clients, design teams and neighbours.

Core Skills & Experience

  • Ability to vet, read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Background training in any technical field related to the built environment
  • Not Less than 15 years in supervision and delivery of high-end luxurious residential projects in a multicultural environment
  • Experience in Reinforced Concrete construction and associated finishes
  • Assertive, diligent and attention to details
  • Experience in delivering projects within tight timelines
  • Fluent in reading and speaking English
  • Experience in working in Africa or the Middle East is an added advantage
